Source: Youtube Encyclopædia Britannica Films began in November 1928 as Electrical Research Products, Inc, (ERPI) when John Otterson decided to make use of the latest 35mm motion picture technology with the 16 mm format that was being adopted by colleges and schools. ERPI was headquartered with its parent company AT&T in New York City. Bell Labs provided research staff and Western Electric served as its manufacturer.
